Design

To expand the original house and bring its arrangement in line with the requirements of time and its new occupiers we remodelled all levels of client’s property, designed a rear extension and a new modern mansard floor. The project’s material palette is constrained to materials used in the original house, those which will coordinate or directly contrast them.

Interior

This private project is located in Queen’s Gate conservation area in Kensington in a late Victorian terrace. To expand the original house and bring its arrangement in line with the requirements of time and its new occupiers we remodelled all levels of client’s property, designed a rear extension and a new modern mansard floor. The project’s material palette is constrained to materials used in the original house, those which will coordinate or directly contrast them. The street facade of the property appears largely unchanged with a subtle clerestory mansard window to fulfill the rigorous conservation area requirements. A planning permission and a planning appeal for an earlier scheme were simultaneously won by our studio. The project has been tendered is currently under construction.
